My chimney started leaking during heavy rains, and 2nd Chance fixed the issue quickly and affordably. They got here quickly for the estimate and did a patch the same day so it wasn't continuing to leak while we waited for new flashing to be fabricated. The estimator also noted additional potential issues I wasn't aware of, and bundled that fix into the flashing repair project. Very thoughtful! The repairs were scheduled and completed efficiently, with clear commuication the whole time. The chimney cleaning and inspection was also efficent and afforable. Will use and recommend these guys again for sure.

Expert Siding Repair in Rome, NY
Siding repair in Rome, NY is more than a cosmetic fix. Homes in the Mohawk Valley face hard freeze-thaw cycles every winter. Ice gets into small cracks, expands, and forces them wider with each cold snap. Wind-driven snow and hail leave dents, loose panels, and gaps that let moisture into your walls. At 2nd Chance Roofing LLC, we inspect the full exterior, not just the visible damage. We look for warped panels, soft spots behind the siding, failed caulking at seams, and any area where water can get behind the surface. We repair cracked, buckled, or missing sections and reseal joints to stop water intrusion. Soffit and fascia damage gets addressed at the same time, since those areas often fail together. Rome homeowners with older housing stock see this pattern often, especially after a rough winter. If your siding is showing cracks, pulling away from the wall, or showing water stains inside, call 2nd Chance Roofing LLC for an inspection.

FAQ
Siding Repair FAQ
Common questions about siding repair in Rome, NY.
Repair is usually the right call when damage is limited to a few panels or sections. If more than half your Rome home's siding is cracked, warped, or pulling away from the wall, replacement may make more sense.
Yes, gaps and cracks in siding let water and cold air into your walls. Rome homeowners sometimes notice water stains, peeling paint, or higher heating costs before they spot the exterior damage.
Siding damage from storms, hail, or high winds is often covered by homeowners insurance policies. Wear and tear from age is generally not covered, so it is worth reviewing your policy and getting a professional inspection first.
Freeze-thaw cycles are the most common cause in Rome, NY, where water gets into small openings and expands as it freezes. Hail, wind-driven debris, and age-related material breakdown also cause cracking and warping.
Often yes, because soffit and fascia damage usually happens alongside siding problems on Rome homes. Addressing them together prevents water from working its way into the roofline after the siding is fixed.
Yes, we work on older Rome homes where siding materials and installation styles vary. We inspect the full exterior and match repairs to what your home needs.
